maxon motor Australia is moving!

An increase in demand of the popular maxon DC motor has meant a move to bigger premises.

Maxon motor was opened in Australia in 2007 by Managing Director Brett Motum. He has built the business from strength to strength providing high-precision drive systems in the fields of industrial automation, robotics and medical technology.

Motum says “as technology evolves, naturally so too do the requirements of our customers. I have seen over the past eight years a surge in the need for highly customised motors, to not only established manufacturing and engineering industries, but also emerging markets such as motors for downhole directional drilling and subsea applications including unmanned vehicles”.

Offering DC motors that can be modified to almost any application, other products manufactured by Swiss engineers include ironless winding and flat motors with iron core; motors with mechanical and electronic commutation, planetary gears, spur gears and special gears, sensors (encoders, DC tachos, resolvers) servo amplifiers and position controllers.

Maxon motor Australia is part of a global network of 14 offices and four production sites, employing more than 2000 personnel. With more than 40 years’ experience, constant innovation, top quality products and competent customer service make maxon a reliable partner whether you are a start-up innovator or established global manufacturer.

The new larger premises will provide an increase in maxon motors local test and evaluation capabilities, a larger stock holding and an increased ability to meet customer demands with expediency.
